Garda Trentino Foil Days
Exhibition and Regatta Featuring Prominent Participants
The Garda Trentino Foil Days have brought the concept of a windsurfing festival—featuring regattas and an informative exhibition—to Lake Garda. The event runs through June 21.
In addition to the exhibition, the format of the one-hour regatta is particularly interesting. Instead of having wingfoilers, fin-equipped windsurfers, and foil windsurfers start separately, everyone is sent out onto the regatta course together. However, the individual groups are listed separately in the results.
The high-profile field is particularly striking. There are a great many World Cup pros competing. After two races, Amado Vrieswijk leads the windsurfing foil standings ahead of Bruno Martini. In the fin category, Matteo Iachino is in the lead ahead of Kevin Grosjean.
And as if that weren’t enough, the Windsurfer LT and Techno classes are also competing. A total of 128 windsurfers and foilers are taking part.
