ROTS One Hour Edition 2026
Racer of the Sea regatta at Lake Dümmer
Hüde, April 25, 2026 – Last weekend, the first "One Hour Edition" of the "Racer of the Sea" regatta series took place on Lake Dümmer in the Diepholz district of Lower Saxony, Germany.
Together with the wing foil races held at the same time, 35 water sports enthusiasts participated on Saturday, including 13 young people and seven women.
All classes started together and competed in a spirited race on the slalom buoy course.
With sunshine and winds of 8–15 knots in the morning, raceboarders and foilers got off to a good start. As the day progressed, the wind picked up to 18 knots, providing excellent conditions for the slalom riders with fins as well. Three race rounds were completed in each class.
The overall victory in the fin slalom class went to Denmark’s Kasper Thrane. He finished ahead of U19 winner Loris Freund and Andreas Kurzawski. The top woman among the 16 fin racers was Sabine Schoening in 10th place. Among the raceboarders, Emanuel Agel won the battle among the four daggerboard candidates.
In the foil slalom, the overall standings were determined based on the 15 participating windsurfers and wing foilers. Wing foiler Felix Neuling took first place, with windsurf foiler Til Klöpping coming in second, followed by 12-year-old wing foiler Samu Klimt and Marleen Fritz, who was also competing with a wing.
The day of sporting success at this fun regatta came to a close in the evening with a group barbecue by the lake. The next edition of the ROTS One Hour Format will take place on the first weekend of May as part of the Strander Surf Cup on the Kiel Fjord (May 2–3 – Info and registration).
