Season finale: Pelzerhaken Windsurf Cup 2026
Victory for Leo Richter and Giedrius Liutkus. Lena Schmäh was the top woman.
With a total of ten Fin slalom eliminations and six foil competitions, the season finale of the California Windsurf Cup in Pelzerhaken, Germany can look back on an extremely successful regatta.
Leo Richter won the Fin slalom standings ahead of Keno Recke and Oliver Schott. However, last weekend Nico Prien showed what happens when a World Cup professional takes part. Prien won all four heats held on Sunday, but was unable to break into the top placings due to the large number of races held in total. Oliver Schott demonstrated just how fit he is by finishing third in the Grandmaster Over-50s category.
In the foiling event, Giedrius Liutkus took the victory back to his home country of Lithuania. Jesse Richter finished in second place. Keno Recke completed the podium in third place.
Unfortunately, there were only a few women competing in the California Windsurf Cup. Three women competed in the foiling event. Lena Schmäh finished 17th in the combined men’s and women’s rankings, making her the top-placed woman ahead of Smilla Petersen in 19th place and Sophie Getschmann in 24th place.
In the fin slalom, Lena Schmäh finished 23rd. Smilla Petersen took 29th place.
