Boxio, based in Rostock/Germany, manufactures camping modules made from stackable boxes. The product line includes, for example, a cooking station, a sink with a water supply and a wastewater tank, a toilet, and a shelving system. The company focuses on casual campers. The entire concept is designed so that the individual, self-contained modular boxes are easy to load and use.
The sink, in particular, stands out thanks to its clever technology. The system is pressurized using a hand pump. The air pressure then ensures that the faucet can be used just like any other. Alternatively, the faucet can be swapped out for a long shower hose with a showerhead. Similar kitchens often rely on electric pumps, which increases complexity. Boxio’s ingenious system requires only a little muscle power.
The unit includes a five-liter fresh water tank and a waste water tank of the same size. A brilliant design feature is that the sink drain fits directly onto the waste water tank inlet without the need for a hose. The sink, including the faucet and showerhead, is priced at 219 euros. Without the showerhead, the wash box costs 179.90 euros.
The cooking box, priced at 229 euros, is built around the same box size. It features additional storage space beneath the gas stove. The separation toilet, including accessories, costs around 200 euros.
In addition to the modular boxes, the manufacturer now also offers a two-meter-long wooden bed frame, with space at the bottom designed to perfectly accommodate the boxes. The bed system is available in four different widths. The large bed (Boxio Rack Bundle XL), measuring 165 cm wide, will set you back 2,744 euros - a significant dent in your vacation budget. The M version, priced at 1,796 euros, is just under 105 cm wide.
