PWA Fuerteventura Grand Slam 2026
Three world championship titles will be awarded on the Canary Island
The Windsurf World Cup on Fuerteventura is one of the longest-running World Cups and will be held for the 38th time in 2026. As a five-star Grand Slam, the event will once again hold the highest possible ranking in the PWA hierarchy in 2026. The Freestyle (July 17–21) and Slalom X (July 22–26) disciplines will be contested by both men and women.
The event offers a total of 80,000 euros in prize money, with 40,000 euros awarded in Freestyle and 40,000 euros in Slalom X. When combined with the Wingfoil World Cup, which follows immediately afterward, the total regular prize money distributed during the event amounts to 105,000 euros.
Three world championship titles will be awarded in Sotavento this year. The Slalom X world championship titles will be awarded for both men and women.
PWA Windsurf Grand Slam: Freestyle (July 17–21, 2026)
At this first freestyle event of the season, the women’s PWA world championship title will be awarded, while the men will compete for crucial points toward the world rankings.
By the way: Modern freestyle was established as a World Cup discipline on Fuerteventura. It was first held as a test discipline in 1997.
PWA Windsurf Grand Slam: Slalom X (July 22–26, 2026)
The PWA World Championship titles for women and men will be awarded.
The first PWA obstacle slalom, originally called “Super X,” also made its debut on Fuerteventura. That was in 2003.
Incidentally, the World Cup is organized by the crew of the René Egli Center in collaboration with the Pájara municipal government and the island government of Fuerteventura.
