Chafing-reducing surfwear from ION

Foils and fins can cause cuts even with minimal pressure. ION has addressed this issue and produces surfwear made from the specialized material HPPE. HPPE is a polyethylene fiber known for being stronger than Kevlar. It is used, among other things, in military protective vests and cut-resistant gloves.

At ION, the fiber is featured in the ION Surf Shield line. The collection currently includes board shorts, a long-sleeve shirt, and both short and long tight-fitting pants.

However, the protective features are clearly reflected in the price. The shirt has a recommended retail price of 279.99 EUR. The shorts are priced at 209.99 EUR, and the long-leg tights cost 319.99 EUR.
