ProAm Windsurf Cups

Racing series for beginners and pros alike

The ProAm Windsurf Cups are intended to serve as contests for regatta newcomers and weekend racers, providing “a sort of ‘second division’ within the Windsurf Cup.” The venues must therefore be easy to master. Of the three regattas, two will take place on Lake Garda and one in Germany.

The first event already took place on April 11 and 12, 2026, on Lake Garda, and it became clear that pros who usually compete in the middle of the pack on the PWA World Tour are happy to use these events as a trial run for the new season.

In the foil slalom, after 12 heats, Italian Daniele Benedetti beat Bruno Martini in a tiebreaker. Danish rider Noah Vinther finished third. All three riders also compete on the PWA Tour.

What’s exciting, however, is that South Tyrolean iQFOiL rider Linda Oprandi was able to hold her own as the top woman in this field, finishing 13th in the overall standings. Lotte Grünbaum from Germany was the second-best woman in 24th place, ahead of Lena Schmäh (33rd).

Eleven races were held in the Fin Slalom. Here, the Austrian Max Hieber won ahead of Massimiliano Brunetti and Jonas Hölzl from Germany. No women competed in this event.

The upcoming ProAm Windsurf Cup in Wesermünde offers a great opportunity for newcomers to the sport to get started.

The following ProAm Windsurf Cups are still scheduled for 2026:

  • ProAm Windsurf Cup Wesermünde – May 16–17, 2026
  • ProAm Windsurf Cup Lake Garda (ITA) – September 19–20, 2026
