WWT / PWA Aloha Classic 2026
Marc Paré Rico wins the Aloha Classic ahead of Bernd Roediger and Antoine Martin.
31 October 2026 – That was a spot-on finish. On the final day, all the results were finalised at the Aloha Classic. The men’s final went ahead, as did the entire Masters and Under-15 competitions.
The men’s final was slotted in between the Masters heats so that the four finalists could make the most of the best conditions. Marc Paré Rico, Bernd Roediger and Antoine Martin had almost half an hour to determine the winner with their best wave rides.
At times, the wind was strong enough to allow riders to glide out to sea. This mobility at the spot meant the riders caught significantly more waves than in previous days. Whilst Bernd Roediger got off to a flying start, Marc Paré calmly worked his way up the leaderboard and demonstrated with great focus that he is currently the best all-rounder in the waves, regardless of the spot.
In the end, Marc overtook Bernd Roediger – who had been leading up to that point – by a tiny margin of 0.05 points. Final scores: Paré 13.45 points, Roediger 13.40 points, Noireaux 11.72 points, Martin 11.44 points. The Spaniard beat the local on his home spot.
With this victory, Marc Paré has extended his lead at the top of the world rankings. Philip Köster remains in second place. However, Bernd Roediger is hot on his heels. Roediger has skipped all the events in Europe and has managed the feat of reaching the very top whilst travelling as little as possible.
Who will be crowned world champion?
If we interpret the rules correctly, Bernd Roediger could draw level on points with Marc Paré by winning the final event of the year in Chile, provided Marc Paré finishes lower than second place there. And then a tie-break rule could decide the world championship title in Bernd Roediger’s favour. A maximum of four events per rider count towards the title. Even with a win in Chile, Philip Köster would no longer have a chance of winning the title.
Masters and Youth
Kai Katchadourian won the Masters classification ahead of Laurent Guillemin and Vincent Beauvarlet. A U-15 heat featuring two riders was also held. The British rider Rocco Swift won this, ahead of Akash Glickenhaus (USA).
