The third stage of the 2026 o2 SURF MASTERS Tour drew the top Rapid Surf competitors to the capital. The thrilling final pushed the athletes to their limits on the powerful capital city wave. In both the women’s and men’s divisions, the winners of the previous stage repeated their successes and extended their leads in the overall standings.

Women: A commanding victory for Valeska Schneider
The outcome in the women’s competition was clear-cut. Reigning German champion Valeska Schneider from Munich underscored her exceptional status and, with 15.5 points, secured first place in commanding fashion.

“The level of competition among the women is rising from stop to stop; you really have to heat,” explained Valeska Schneider. “The Berlin Wave forgives few mistakes, so I’m super happy that I was able to execute my runs so cleanly . The victory is also very important for the overall ranking.”

While the victory was never in doubt, a thrilling battle erupted behind her for the remaining podium spots: Anika Weizel from Osnabrück secured second place with 12.7 points after a focused performance. Just a hair’s breadth behind her, local hero Taja Götz (12.5 points) sparked wild cheers from the Berlin crowd and rounded out the podium in third place.

Men: Hannes Mosch Capitalizes on Home Advantage
Following his victory in Düsseldorf, Berlin native Hannes Mosch was considered one of the top favorites on his “home wave”—and he fully lived up to that role in front of his home crowd. The final turned into an absolute surfing thriller at the highest competitive level. In an extremely close head-to-head race, Mosch secured a razor-thin victory with a total score of 17.17 points, ahead of the winner of the first tour stop, Marius Gerlach (16.93 points), and the reigning German runner-up Joshi Holy (16.43 points).

“I knew the pressure would be especially high at the home event because everyone expects a win ,” said a visibly pleased Hannes Mosch after the award ceremony. “I know the wave here at Wellenwerk inside and out, of course, but the competition really stepped up their game in the final. The fact that it was enough for first place in the end is a great feeling.”
