The shape has been completely redesigned

Starboard has relaunched the Kode Freewave board. The boards perform well even in bump-and-jump conditions and have been given a shape that feels even more at home in choppy conditions.

The concavities in the hull have been deepened for earlier planing and a more comfortable ride. The rocker line – the curve of the hull – has been made straighter, and the outline has been slimmed down.

The new Kodes in carbon sandwich construction are available in five sizes, ranging from 85 to 125 litres in volume (10-liter steps). The boards can be ridden with a large single fin (115 and 125). In waves, a three-fin ‘thruster’ setup is recommended (85, 95 and 105). Compared to the previous model, the fins have been moved further towards the stern. This is intended to improve control, particularly at high speeds.
