IFCA Foiling European Championships St. Peter-Ording 2026 - Update 1
John Soukos wins the opening race; Lina Erzen leads the women's standings
As part of the California Windsurf Cup in St. Peter-Ording, Germany, the IFCA Foiling European Championships have been taking place since July 15. The event also counts toward the PWA foil rankings, and results were in right from the very first day.
65 windsurfers from 16 countries took to the water at Ordinger Beach; a total of 40,000 euros in prize money awaits the top finishers. With wind speeds between 10 and 15 knots, a full elimination round for the men and three races for the women were held on Wednesday afternoon.
In the men's competition, John Soukos (GRE-198) from Greece came out on top. Fabi Wolf (GER-404) stayed close behind and took second place. Bob van de Burgt (NED-737) from the Netherlands followed in third place. The two Danes, Kasper Nielsen (DEN-148) and Noah Vinter (DEN-7777), rounded out the top 5.
The wind wasn't cooperating on Thursday, but the races in SPO will continue through Sunday, and the wind forecast looks very good again for late Friday afternoon and especially for Saturday.
