WWT / PWA Windsurf World Cup Pozo 2026: Maria Behrens leads the wave rankings. Philip Köster is in third place...

The Windsurf World Cup in Gran Canaria came to a close on Sunday evening with a grand closing ceremony at the Gloria Hotel. Organizer Björn Dunkerbeck expressed his satisfaction. “We managed to complete all the categories.” In the end, they even managed to hold a Spanish championship, which Marino Gil won.

With his victory, Philip Köster climbs to third place in the world rankings. Ahead of the German in second place is Marcilio Browne, and in first place is Bernd Rödiger from the U.S. Also worth noting is Moritz Mauch’s position; he ranks 10th in the world rankings.

Marcilio Browne is ranked second in the wave rankings.

Maria Behrens of Germany leads the women’s standings. Although she finished only fifth in Gran Canaria, she secured a second-place finish at the Quatro Maui Pro. Lina Erpenstein is in third place in the world rankings, behind Marine Hunter.

The results will continue to evolve over the coming months. Not all top male and female riders have competed in every event so far. Philip Köster, for example, did not compete in the World Cup in Fiji. Sarah-Quita Offringa has only competed in the World Cup in Gran Canaria and, despite her second-place finish there, is ranked tenth in the world rankings.

The next Wave World Cup will take place from July 31 to August 9 on the Canary Island of Tenerife. The PWA freestylers will compete starting July 17, and the PWA Slalom X riders will take the stage starting July 22. In between, the IFCA Foil European Championship will be held in Sankt Peter-Ording; points from that event will also count toward the PWA Foil Slalom standings, though with a lower weighting.
