WWT / PWA Windsurf World Cup Pozo 2026
Trine Gobisch wins the U15 division.
July 7, 2026 – Update 2
Conditions at the Wave World Cup in Pozo once again allowed the young athletes to take to the water. The focus on Monday was on the finals for the Boys U13, Boys U15, and Girls U15 age groups.
Trine Gobisch from Germany finished ahead of Fumi Akita from Japan. The podium in this age group wasn’t fully filled—there were only these two competitors. Given the large number of age groups at this event, however, this shouldn’t be viewed negatively.
“Today’s conditions allowed me to land some good jumps and catch some nice waves, even though it took me a while to adjust. Compared to last year, I’ve learned new techniques, especially when it comes to wave riding, so I’m very happy with the result and that I had the opportunity to compete against Fumi Akita,” commented Trine Gobisch.
In the junior division, brothers Dennis and Eric Kolb were in the spotlight. Competing for Spain, the brothers won the U15 and U13 categories, respectively. Eric Kolb deserves special mention, as he is the youngest participant at just 10 years old.
The World Cup in Gran Canaria runs through July 12.
