VW has unveiled the camping version of the ID. Buzz, the ID. California Cruise.

A special mode allows the battery capacity to be used for heating, cooling and powering external devices whilst stationary.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled the camping version of the ID. Buzz, the ID. California Cruise. The passenger car version of the ID. Buzz, available with either a short or long wheelbase, serves as the base vehicle. In everyday use, all the car’s seats are available as normal. For camping, the car is converted so that two people can sleep on a bed measuring 2.03 metres long and 1.20 metres wide.

In camping mode, the electric vehicle can draw power from its battery. This allows the car to cool or heat the interior for up to 48 hours at a time whilst stationary.

The battery supplies electrical power at a continuous output of up to 2,000 watts and a peak output of 3.6 kW. This allows you to use hotplates or charge e-bikes.

The set includes ventilation grilles for the front side windows, blackout blinds for all windows, as well as two camping chairs and a camping table.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering the ID. California Cruise in Germany at prices starting from 60,761 euros.
